O.M.G!

It's been a strange sort of day

I mean, Nicola is a very nice human but she doesn't half like to get personal with a fellow

This is what I looked like last night

A cute puppy, I'm sure you'd agree!

Well, This afternoon Mum took me round to Nicola's cabin and left me there! The bath was being filled...............

This is what I look like now!

Mum says I look like a proper Schnauzer now, Dad says I am very smart and everyone says my fur is super-soft!

I'm not sure. It's a bit of a drastic change.

What do you think?

Podged!!

Phew!!

Feeling a bit stuffed today

Human Nanny came to give me my lunch and a bit of a walk but Human Mum hadn't left any instructions so there was a bit of a mix-up

First Human Nanny found a plastic pot that she thought was my lunch so she tipped in my bowl. I was very pleased - it was the pot Human Mum keeps my treats in!

Then Human Nanny found another plastic pot of food and realised this was my real food. What she didn't realise was that it was two meals worth and she popped the whole lot into my bowl so I ate all that too!!

I do feel very full tonight though! Not sure I want my tea now!!

Long walk needed I think!

My First Day as a Travel Bug!

Well, what a day I've had!

You don't know me yet but I'm only a young Miniature Schnauzer and I have already been given great responsibility!

I have been to my first big Geocaching event!  Being a young lad, I haven't been allowed out much yet to help with this treasure hunt but today was my first proper outing. And I had a special job to do.

We drove in the car for hours and hours - well, that's what it seemed like. When I was finally allowed out of my car cage, I had a new tag attached to my lead. My Human Brothers - Ryan and Scott - told me it meant I was now a Travel Bug and people could discover me!

I was very confused. I know I'm a dog not a bug and I know where I am. I don't need discovering again!

They explained that some other Geocachers like to track Travel Bugs and they would like to write down the number on the tag so they could say they had met me so I had to introduce myself to as many people as possible and be as nice as I could!
Well, this was a job right up my street! I love meeting new people and getting to know them. Sometimes I like getting to know what they taste like but my Human Mum says I'm not to do that. I try to remember that - mostly!

Anyway, we went to the Essex Geocachers camping event at St Lawrence in Essex. We didn’t camp. Ryan offered use of his tent but it looks a bit small for all of us so we just went along for the day.

We said hello to the people in charge which was a real pleasure as they gave me a huge biscuit! When I had finished munching, we set off along the sea wall. We soon met up with Freddie, who is indeed Fearless, who was taking his Mum and Dad along to search for caches.

It was a beautiful day and there were so many new things for me to explore. There were lots of smells I hadn’t smelled before and things I hadn’t tasted before. My Human Brother Scott took me down a long flight of steps onto a funny sort of field. There was no grass on it and no trees but lots of yellow stuff that he said was sand and all sorts of good things to sniff and chew and taste! The funny green stuff was especially interesting. Human Mum called it seaweed and said I wasn’t allowed to bring it with me!

My Human Mum Sarah says I’m not allowed to walk too far yet as my bones are still growing but I had lots of chances to sit and rest especially when Ryan dropped a cache down a great long tube and we had to wait ages while the Humans tried to work out how to get it back! If they’d only let me at it, I would have solved it instantly!

After that, Human Mum and I decided we had walked far enough and went back to the camp site, picking up my lunch on the way, so we could sit in the shade and wait for the others to finish their long walk. It was quite a long way back and getting very hot so I let Human Mum carry me for a while - it makes her feel better!

We had very pleasant day, sitting and talking to people and eating more biscuits although Human Mum wouldn’t share her sandwiches with me! I got to meet Daisy the Cairn Terrier. I always bark a nice, loud, enthusiastic greeting to other dogs but they don’t always seem to like that. I wonder why?

We went for another little walk along the sea wall. I was a bit scared of the big dog than ran up to me – he didn’t look very friendly to a young chap – but I did see some bunny rabbits enjoying the sun. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them – any ideas?

We met some more Cachers who were sitting enjoying their lunch and they did write down my Travel Bug number so the Human Brothers were right after all!

When we got back to the site, I decided it was time for a sleep in the shade until Human Dad and the boys got back. When they did, there was more lunch to eat and more people to meet, lots of whom wanted my number.

I wanted to stay longer but Human Mum was fussing that I had been on my lead all day and she thought I was getting fed up so we had to come home. I think she was also a bit worried that we had run out of food and there were Human Teenage Boys who would need feeding again soon

Secretly, I think she was probably right. I slept all the way home, then I slept all evening too!

It was a really fun day out and, if this is what geocaching is all about, I’m looking forward to my next outing!
